Suzy was born in Salisbury, N.C. and spent most of her years growing up in Atlanta, GA. After graduating from Georgia College with a degree in Art Education, she enjoyed 20 years of teaching all types of art to ages 4 to 94. When her daughter and son left the nest, Suzy took on a new career traveling and enjoying art throughout the world. She and her husband have moved from the mountains of North Georgia to the incredible marshes and sandy beaches of Saint Simons Island, GA. Suzy says that she is most inspired by the sweeping expanses of land, sea, and sky, along with sunshine and fresh air. Her use of bold colors and forms creates an intriguing range of Abstract and Impressionist Works. Artist’s Statement: The joyful simplicity of how children view the world is my anchor in painting. I strive to capture the essence of the subject matter and to allow the painting to become the expression of what I see and respond to. I choose to express the joy that I experience in life and in art. I hope that you, the viewer, enjoy what you see in my work and let your imagination explore along with me. Oscar Wilde once said, “A work of art is useless. So is a flower."
